Wendy is board-certified in internal medicine with a veterinary career spanning 4 decades across academia, private practice, and the animal health industry. She has a passion for advancing animal care through innovation, business development, education, specialty clinical practice and active engagement in organizations such as ACVIM, AAEP, and SFT.
As a large animal internist at the University of Pennsylvania CVM and in private specialty practices, Wendy spearheaded development of neonatal intensive care units and high-risk pregnancy programs, setting new standards in equine perinatal care. Industry followed practice and during her 19 years at Merck Animal Health she served as Sr. Equine Technical Specialist followed by Director of Strategic Development for Companion Animals and Equine. Her time in industry included driving business development initiatives, assessing novel therapeutics, analyzing portfolio gaps and guiding R&D and market strategies for companion animal / equine pharmaceuticals, biologics and nutraceuticals. An internationally recognized author and speaker with 200+ invited lectures, she is skilled at translating research into real-world applications for veterinarians, animal owners, and industry professionals. Wendy joined VMD Sciences in 2025 to contribute her experience and strong relationships across the animal health industry to help expand global access to critically important veterinary medicines, thereby enabling veterinarians worldwide to provide optimal patient care.
